Dear Live Oak Families,
ATTENTION! The Ed Fund is doing something different this year. We are not taking online donations through Future Funds but through PayPal because of lower cost fees. We prefer a check (no fees). And if you give by check, you can indicate in Future Funds how much you will donate and a receipt will be generated for you.
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we are asking each family to consider donating $495 per student at Fall Registration or $895 per family, for multiple students. I understand financial times may be difficult, but the sacrifices we make for our students will ensure that our school is well-equipped with the resources they need for continual success.
Checks are high preferred but you may give online through PayPal (scan QR code or click link below). As a single payment option may not be ideal for all families, you may use the option through PayPal to give on a recurring monthly basis. For example, for a single student you can click “other” and input $99 and have it recur for 5 months.

FREE SPIRIT WEAR T-SHIRT! If you provide a one-time donation of the full ask per student/family, your student(s) will receive the Live Oak Spirit Wear t-shirt for the upcoming year for free. Write your child’s name and size on your donation check or in the notes if giving online.
CORPORATE MATCH! We can only achieve our financial goals through corporate matching. We ask that donors engage their employers, which most have platforms to provide matching funds, i.e. Benevity, Cyber Grants, and etc. After you make your donation, the Ed Fund will provide you with a receipt for your employer or platform.
As you may already know, the two great factors that are impacting our school are
declining enrollment and the large $26 million budget cut from the district. But I believe we can overcome these obstacles for the upcoming year by increasing the number of families who give to the Ed Fund.
In past years, we have had less than 40% of our Live Oak families participate in the Ed Fund. Our motto as we move forward should be Strength in Numbers!
But I thought public education was free? Not if you desire the standard of excellence Live Oak has had in the past. The ~$35,000 which our Principal Mr. Fong will receive this upcoming school year will fall very short of providing:
- Para Educators who assist our teachers in the classroom to meet the wide-ranging demands of our students
- Maintaining and purchasing copy machines, computers, tablets, projectors, printers, and document cameras used in classrooms
- Classroom supplies/art Supplies/science equipment and lab supplies
- Upkeep of the school office/paper/toner
- Extended librarian hours and library supplies
- Staffing noon duties
- Teacher grants for various classroom specific needs
- Art teacher and a music teacher
With your donations, the Ed Fund comes alongside of the school to provide the majority of these costs. Our goal for the 2025-26 school year is to raise a minimum of $150,000 to cover otherwise unfunded expenses.
Thank you for your continued support of Live Oak Ed Fund and have a fantastic 2025-26 school year!
