Dear Live Oak Families,
As we transition into the 2024-2025 school year, please be aware of some ongoing developments:
Despite our high property values, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District was the 5th lowest funded unified district in the state per student. This funding disbursement is determined by the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). Declining enrollment at Live Oak is another challenge that is resulting in decreased funding. This year, both Measures E&F failed to pass which further compounds the problem. In order to maintain the standard of excellence we have achieved in past years, the need to support the Live Oak Education Fund becomes increasingly urgent.
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we are asking each family to consider donating $495 per student at Fall Registration or $895 per family, for multiple students. I understand financial times may be difficult, but the sacrifices we make for our students will ensure that our school is well-equipped with the resources they need for continual success. As a single payment option may not be ideal for all families, we have provided an extended payment option to distribute this contribution over 6 payments.
This requested donation amount reflects the true cost of maintaining a level of curriculum and programming that has become synonymous with a Live Oak education. In addition to the donations we receive at registration, we ask that you multiply your donation through matching funds from your participating employer. During registration, please make sure both parents’ and employers’ information are listed in the system. This will allow us to send you the automated information for steps required with each employer.
Our goal for the 2024-25 school year is to raise a minimum of $175,000 to cover otherwise unfunded expenses. Without your support, your students will have reduced or no access to these services as the district provides a limited budget for these resources/staff:
Salaries of staff not paid for by SRVUSD ($115,000)
· Classroom Para Educators · Art Teacher · Music Teacher · Expanded Librarian Hours
Supplies ($50,000)
· All School/Classroom supplies · Art Supplies · Science equipment and lab supplies · Classroom Leveled Libraries
Operating Expenses ($10,000)
· Eagle’s Nest · Soul Shoppe · Software · Teacher Grants · Technology Upgrade
Your support of Ed Fund is what helps Live Oak consistently remain a high-performing school. Live Oak Ed Fund is a non-profit organization, made up of elected parents and staff whose sole object is to ensure that your donation dollars provide the best possible curriculum, staffing and support for YOUR child. Your donation may be tax-deductible (consult with your financial advisor) and goes directly to the classroom and supports our mission of maintaining and improving the quality of education at Live Oak.
